Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has stated that at least one metro station on Vynohradna should be opened this year.

Asked about the construction of a subway on Vynohradar, Klitschko said he was constantly checking it.
The Germans have a good saying: “trust is good, but control is always better.” So I personally go to all the key objects, I check everyone with my own eyes. I have repeatedly gone to the construction of the subway line. “More than 900 meters have already been laid underground. There are still a few things left. There are a few violations of deadlines. But Kyivmetrobud guarantees that we will be able to open the station by the end of the year,” he said.
“At least one station should be opened this year,” Klitschko said, adding that “everything is funded, there should be no problems.”
In addition, when asked about the subway to Troieschyna, Klitschko said that “it is impossible to build this subway without a bridge.” “There is still a subway line in the body of the bridge. Design work is underway, I will not tell fairy tales, but the issue of subway construction is, I think, 4-5 years. This is a difficult direction,” he said.
Promised subway
On March 16, the Kyiv Metro utility company denied information spread by some media outlets that the construction of new stations on Vynohradar had been stopped.
“The construction of Mostytska and Prospekt Pravdy metro stations, as well as distillery tunnels, is underway,” the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration said, citing the Kyiv Metro.
