The Republican Party invited the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, to a meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, before the President of the United States met with the President of the Russian Federation, Volodymyr Putin.

This was stated by the representative of the Republican Party on the US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs Michael McCaul, according to the corresponding Twitter message from Republicans on that committee.
“It is unacceptable that our strategic partner Ukraine learned from the media about the shameful decision to lift the crucial sanctions against Nord Stream 2 and not directly from the Biden administration. The US president should use the powers granted by Congress to stop the construction of the pipeline, McCall said.
Biden called for a meeting with Zelensky to reaffirm US support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty ahead of the summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
McCaul added that the launch of Nord Stream 2 would make Ukraine more vulnerable to Russian aggression.
“It’s totally unacceptable,” McCall said.
