Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that he always has something to talk about with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Russian leader believes that the problems of bilateral relations between Russia and Ukraine should be the main topic of conversation in the event of a meeting between the presidents of the two countries.

In particular, Putin said that Kyiv offered to discuss international security issues at a bilateral meeting. The Russian head of state could not explain what Kyiv meant by international security. But, I assumed that it was a question of Donbas.
“This is, of course, an important aspect of the situation in the world, international security for everyone, including Russia and Ukraine. But it seems to me that there are so many problems in our bilateral relations that we should talk about it,” Putin said.
The Russian head of state believes that the priority issues for discussion with Ukraine should be bilateral issues.
In addition, Putin said that Ukraine allegedly has “no desire to implement the Minsk agreements.” He also believes that the issue of relations between Kyiv and Donbas “is not a whim” of Russia.
“It is not our whim, not my whim, for the Kyiv authorities to talk to the people of Donbas. This is written in the Minsk agreements, and under them are the signatures of unrecognized republics – LPR and DPR. Moreover, the then President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko insisted that the leaders sign these two unrecognized republics. And now the Kyiv authorities do not want to talk to them, “the Russian president said.
Putin’s spokesman Dmytro Peskov stated that there were no concrete proposals from the Ukrainian side on the procedure for a potential meeting between the Presidents of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the Russian Federation Volodymyr Putin.
During the press conference, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that talks between the offices of the Presidents of Ukraine and Russia on the meeting of the Presidents of both countries have begun.
On the same day, the Kremlin confirmed contacts to prepare for a hypothetical meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
