The bodies of three workers were found near the town of Melamchi in the Sindhupalchok area, northeast of Kathmandu, which was hit by a flash flood on Wednesday that also forced many people to flee their homes.
The country’s interior ministry said 25 people went missing as a result of the floods.
The victims worked in the Melamchi water supply project.
Monsoon rains, which usually begin in June and last until September, kill hundreds of people each year, mostly in mountainous Nepal.
Heavy rain on Tuesday damaged roads, destroyed bridges, washed away fish farms and livestock, and destroyed houses.
Authorities said hundreds of people were forced to move to public shelters, including schools, barns, and tents.
Relief agencies said the crisis this year could exacerbate the social and economic problems of the country, which has been hit hard by COVID-19. Nepal has one of the highest positive coronavirus test results in the world.
