The day before, it became known that the White House had temporarily suspended multimillion-dollar military aid to Ukraine. It was a question of allocating 100 million dollars to Kyiv.
The decision was made after a meeting between US President Joe Biden and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. It is noted that Washington froze not only financial aid but also the package of weapons that was planned to be handed over to Ukraine. The American side was going to send short-range air defense systems (AIR), small arms, and various anti-tank weapons to Kyiv.
The White House called this information “nonsense. ” This was stated in a written statement by White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki.
“Just last week, before the US-Russia summit, we provided a $ 150 million security aid package, including weapons,” said Jennifer Psaki. According to her, Ukraine is currently receiving full assistance planned by Congress.
She also said that the United States had prepared funds in case of the further Russian invasion of Ukraine. However, she did not specify the amount in question.
