Especially in need of fixing on the supports of the culture of tall varieties. Do this with others if necessary. The reasons are easily explained.
If there is a lot of fruit or they are large, their branches and bushes can break, and pests will get to the tomatoes that have fallen to the ground faster. In addition, the tied plants receive more light, and they are even better ventilated.
How to tie a tomato
The easiest way is to use twine and pegs 25 cm taller than the bushes. Tomatoes grow up, and along the way, each of them must be fixed on one peg with twine.
You can install horizontal wallpaper, but here you will need to dig pegs into the ground. But the twine should be stretched between the wallpaper, and plant stems should be passed between the threads.
Also for a garter of tomatoes, the wire framework, in particular, conical is used. It is installed on each bush, so this option is not profitable when growing a large number of bushes: it will be too expensive, regardless of whether the frame is made by hand or bought in a store.
If tomatoes grow in a greenhouse, vertical wallpaper will do. Plants need to be tied up to a ceiling of construction, and in process of growth of bushes to “pull up” them that will protect them from damages. This method is also good for tying plants in the open ground when there is not enough space on the site.
You can also tie tomatoes with wire mesh. From them fences that need to be established between rows of plants gather. Stems need to be tied to a grid with twine and in the course of growth of tomatoes to tie all above and at once some bushes, and pegs will not be required.
