Ukraine and Moldova are preparing an agreement on mutual recognition of ID passports for citizens of both countries to cross the common border.
Kyiv. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – June 20, 2021 – Tourism and Travel
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, this was discussed at the talks of the head of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission Dmytro Kuleba with the acting Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Aureliu Chocoi, which took place on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
The ministers agreed to hold consultations to speed up the conclusion of an agreement on mutual recognition of ID cards in order to facilitate traffic between the countries.
They also discussed the implementation of infrastructure projects.
The key topic of the conversation between Kuleba and Chokoi was the development of the format of the Associated Trio of Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova within the framework of the EU’s Eastern Partnership initiative.
Kuleba expressed hope that the early parliamentary elections in Moldova on July 11 would be held in an open, democratic, and competitive manner, without interference from Russia.
It will be recalled that in May, Ukraine and Moldova agreed on mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccination certificates.
Internal Ukrainian COVID-certificates are to appear in the “Action” application on July 1.
