As you know, the British love delicious tea in all its manifestations. So it is not surprising that they even add it to pastries. Initially, only black tea was used for it, but now you can replace it with “Earl Gray” (which will give the dish fragrant notes of bergamot) or any other at your discretion. This will only make the pastries tastier.

Ingredients:
tea bags – 2 pcs .;
water – 225 ml;
chicken eggs – 2 pieces;
sugar – 50 g;
flour – 450 g;
dried fruits (raisins or prunes) – 300 g;
baking powder – 2.5 tsp .;
fine sea salt – ¼ tsp .;
butter (for serving) – 75 g;
honey – to taste.
Preparation:
1. Put tea bags in a large bowl, pour boiling water and infuse for 10 minutes. Then remove the tea bags, add the dried fruit and sugar. Leave in a cool place for 12 hours.
2. preheat the oven to 170 degrees and prepare a form for baking bread, covering it with parchment paper.
3. Beat eggs in a large bowl until smooth, then add tea with dried fruit and mix thoroughly.
4. Add flour, baking powder, and fine sea salt. Mix all ingredients.
5. Pour the dough into a prepared baking dish and place it in a preheated oven. Bake for 60-70 minutes. To make sure that the bread is well baked, stick a wooden skewer in it – if there are no traces of dough on it, then you can take it out of the oven.
6. Grease the bread with honey, then send it to the oven for another 5-10 minutes to give it a glossy golden-brown hue.
7. Remove the ruddy bread from the oven, transfer to a plate, place it in a cool place and leave it there for 90 minutes.
8. Before serving, cut the bread into thin slices and (if desired) generously grease with butter.
