In the Sumy region, as part of the restoration of the H-12 Sumy-Poltava highway, the contracting company Avtomagistral-Pivden began major repairs of two more sections of the highway and two emergency bridges in the city of Trostyanets. The works are being carried out in accordance with European quality standards within the framework of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s program “Large Construction”, according to the official Facebook page of the program.

“Route H-12 is a highway of national importance with a length of 193.7 km. It passes through large district centers of the Sumy and Poltava regions. Restoration of the highway will allow connecting Sumy and Poltava with a high-quality road of European level, and it will be comfortable to move on it, and most importantly – safe, ”the statement reads.
Overhaul on the section of km 60 + 620 – km 62 + 900 and km 67 + 800 – km 70 + 575 from Trostyanets to the village of Klymentovo with a total length of almost 5 km began in late May. Currently, the company’s specialists are distributing the ground to arrange an additional lane on the sections of descents and ascents.
On section 71 + 000 – km 75 + 220 on the section from Trostyanets in the direction of the city of Okhtyrka, the company’s crews are converting reinforced concrete culverts into corrugated metal structures (MGK).
The projects also envisage the expansion of the ground, the re-arrangement of communication cables and power lines, the installation of a layer of reinforced SFOV base. In addition, there are plans to install two layers of pavement, drainage structures, bus stops, exits and adjacencies, autonomous lighting systems at pedestrian crossings, outdoor lighting networks in settlements, installation of barriers, road signs, and road markings.
In addition, as part of the route upgrade, they also plan to overhaul the emergency bridge within the city of Trostyanets (km 60 + 875) and build a bridge at km 61 + 699: due to the extremely damaged condition of the bridge, the customer decided to dismantle the artificial structure and build a new one. The length of the building is 15.7 m.
Currently, the company’s specialists have completed the dismantling of the bridge and are carrying out preparatory work, including the installation of bored piles.
150 workers and 80 units of special equipment are currently working on the repair of the route.
We will remind, earlier the deputy chairman of the Office of the President, the coordinator of the Big Construction program Kirill Tymoshenko reported that the plan of the presidential program for 2021 provides repair and construction of 6500 km of roads and 245 artificial constructions.
