First Lady Olena Zelenska predicts a wave of opposition to the reform of school nutrition after the entry into force on September 1 of the new rules of nutrition in educational institutions.

“I can now predict – new rules will come into force on September 1, and you and I will see not just a wave, but a tsunami of hatred about reform. Because if this has suited everyone for many years, people who eat at the expense of children, will all be dissatisfied. We will be able to watch for resistance. But we must not stop, “said the President’s wife.
The quality of products will be controlled by the State Food and Consumer Service.
“I hope for parents: if you see that your children are given tasteless, useless – you can immediately contact the State Food and Consumer Service, they should respond. This control has existed in the country for many years, but for some reason did not work. For some reason, I hope that now the traffic police will work in a more active mode, they are demonstrating it, “said the first lady.
According to Zelenska, food reform is focused on the whole of Ukraine. Standards must be met by all schools, as well as for kindergartens.
At the same time, she noted that not all schools will be able to conduct an updated menu from September 1. Therefore, according to the Ministry of Education and Science, sanctions against such institutions will not be applied until January 1, 2022.
“Yes, it will be difficult, because we know that chefs do not receive such a large salary that they can now learn in one day, they can. But we also need to find ways to support them. Maybe there will be another subvention from the Ministry of Education to support the cooks, to give them more financial, maybe bonuses for the fact that they will work harder, “- said Elena Zelenskaya.
