The Security Service recommended that Russian singer Filip Kirkorov be included in the list of individuals who pose a threat to Ukraine’s national security because of his support for the annexation of Crimea.

“The SBU recommended that the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy include Russian singer Filip Kirkorov in the list of individuals who pose a threat to Ukraine’s national security. On June 22, he was included in this list,” the statement said.
The Service explained that the reasons for such recommendations were repeated propaganda concerts and statements by Kirkorov, in which he spoke in support of Russia’s annexation of Crimea, and insisted that the annexed peninsula is part of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, according to the SBU, he regularly spoke in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, entering the peninsula outside the Ukrainian checkpoints.
“The SBU has evidence that Philip Kirkorov deliberately denied the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, and in his statements justified the aggressive actions of the Russian Federation,” the SBU said.
In particular, it is known that on March 18, 2021, Kirkorov performed at the concert “Big holiday concert in honor of the seventh anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia”, which took place with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin – thus supporting the occupation of Crimea.
“In his statements at the event, Kirkorov said that” Crimea is my favorite place in Russia, “and also made a number of other propaganda statements, as he had done many times before,” the Service explained.
Kirkorov in the “blacklist” of the SBU: what is known
On June 23, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine announced that at the request of the Security Service of Ukraine, Russian singer Filip Kirkorov had been included in the list of individuals who pose a threat to national security.
According to the agency, the procedure is carried out automatically, because according to current legislation, it does not have the authority to decide who should be included in the list.
The reasons for Kirkorov’s inclusion in the list were not specified.
Earlier, the Russian rapper Morgenstern (Alisher Valeev) was also blacklisted by the SBU and the Ministry of Culture. In the summer of 2021, he was scheduled to give concerts in Ukraine.
