On Monday, June 28, a solemn sitting of the Verkhovna Rada will be held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine.

According to the Information Department of the Verkhovna Rada, the corresponding order was signed by the Speaker of the Parliament Dmitry Razumkov.
The meeting will begin at 11:00.
On June 28, Ukraine celebrates the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution.
The adoption of the Constitution by the deputies of the Rada took place in the fifth year after the declaration of independence. Until 1996, the Constitution of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic was used. Ukraine was the last of the former Soviet republics to adopt a new constitution
The people’s deputies worked all night from June 27 to 28 – a total of 23 hours continuously. 315 parliamentarians voted in favor.
The adoption of the Constitution consolidated the legal foundations of independent Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, became an important step in ensuring human and civil rights, and further enhanced Ukraine’s international prestige on the world stage.
