An Egyptian farmer working on his land near the city of Ismailia made a unique discovery. He excavated a stele belonging to the 26th dynasty of Ancient Egypt (664-525 BC).
Kyiv. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – June 26, 2021 – Reports
According to Zahi Hawass, a former minister of antiquities, the stele is decorated with a carved winged sun disk and a cartouche of Pharaoh Wah-ib-re.
He was the fifth king of the 26th dynasty. The stela with a rounded top also contained horizontal lines of hieroglyphic text. The find reaches 230 centimeters in length and 103 cm in width.
Now experts in the ancient Egyptian language are engaged in translating the text of the stele. So far it is known that the inscription refers to a military campaign that Pharaoh carried out east of Egypt.
