“According to the final results, 687,761 (53.91%) (voters) voted for the Civil Agreement and 269,481 (21.9%) for the Armenia bloc,” said CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan.
In addition to Pashinyan’s party and Kocharian’s bloc, the parliament also includes the “I Honor” bloc of third president Serzh Sargsyan and former head of the National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan, who received 5.22% of the vote.
Extraordinary elections to the Armenian parliament were held on June 20. The decision was made as a result of political consultations between government officials and some opposition parties to overcome the political crisis that began in Armenia after the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Robert Kocharian’s Armenia bloc has already stated that it does not recognize the election results and is considering appealing to the Constitutional Court.
