Deputy Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Ihor Zhovkva discussed with newly appointed Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Ukraine Ayman Elgammal the possibilities of increasing the export of Ukrainian products and projects in industry and infrastructure.
The interlocutors commended the fact that, despite the pandemic, Ukraine and Egypt had managed to maintain a high dynamics of bilateral contacts, the press service of the President’s Office reported.
In this context, the parties discussed the results of the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Cairo on October 26-29 this year and the talks held with senior Egyptian officials.
The parties exchanged views on ways to enhance cooperation in trade, industry, education, space and healthcare.
During the conversation, Zhovkva and Elgammal emphasized the need to implement projects of Ukrainian enterprises in Egypt in industry and infrastructure. The deputy head of the President’s Office noted the existing potential for increasing the export of domestic products not only to Egypt, but also to other African countries.
In turn, the Egyptian ambassador expressed a desire to expand bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. He also expressed interest in further increasing the volume of imports of Ukrainian grain.
The parties also agreed to continue preparations for the exchange of visits, in particular at the highest level, after the stabilization of the situation with COVID-19.
