“According to preliminary data, there are 22 passengers on board, including one child and 6 crew members,” the regional department of the Ministry of Emergencies told the agency.
He disappeared during a landing 10 kilometers from the destination.
Sources of the Russian agency in emergency services believe that he could fall into the Sea of Okhotsk. However, according to other data, previously, the An-26 could fall 9 kilometers north of Palana near the coal mine.
The search team of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation, rescuers of the search and rescue team, as well as medics of the Regional Center for Disaster Medicine, flew in search. A Mi-8 helicopter was lifted in search of the ship.
The missing An-26 belongs to the Kamchatka Aviation Enterprise, the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor’s Office said. According to the prosecutor’s office, there were not 22 passengers on board, but 23.
