KYIV, February 15 /UKRINFORM/. During the World Newspaper Congress and Editors Forum in Kyiv, it is planned to involve the international press center, which is created on the basis of news agency UKRINFORM for the finals of UEFA 2012 European Football Championship. The President’s press secretary, Daria Chepak, disclosed this during the first extended meeting of the working group to promote the preparation and holding of these large-scale international events in Ukraine.
“Work is already in progress in this direction,” she informed. According to Chepak, the press center will develop any media requests for information – both current and those taking archival materials.
The interagency working group to review the compliance with legislation on freedom of speech and protection of journalists’ rights to the President of Ukraine, which operates under the Open Conversation program, is planning to invite to its meeting representatives of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), the presidential press service reported.
As the Presidential Administration chief and head of the working group, Serhiy Liovochkin put it, “it is necessary to make a systemic presentation file of Ukraine to the world.”
According to him, the point at issue is an effective and modern presentation, which will take into account the experience of other countries, which have already hosted media forums and conferences.
