Three a day: all of the different ages and from different parts of Prykarpattia. At the same time, so many patients with snake bites have never been admitted to the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Children’s Hospital. And here are three at once: a twelve-year-old girl and two boys, sixteen and seventeen years old. And all in serious condition, write Versions with reference to Details.

In all cases, we had facts of snake bites. And the symptoms are typical. Local and general. In two cases it was a bite in the lower extremities in the leg, and in the latter case, a 12-year-old girl was bitten in the upper limb in the right wrist.
The higher on the body – the more dangerous the bites, doctors say. Of the three children, the girl is in the worst condition. Still in intensive care. She is not a local – a resident of Kryvyi Rih. She came to Prykarpattia to rest in a summer camp in the village of Osmoloda… How and where she came across a viper – the child told the doctors.

She says that she deliberately took that snake, arguing with the guy who is braver. That is, she did not run away from her but followed her.
You don’t have to go to the forest to come across a snake. You can come across it in the middle of the village. That’s how walking along the road – it is in such tall grasses, which are in no hurry to mow, and often hide vipers.
And so it happened with sixteen-year-old Sergei. The guy is ashamed and asks not to show his face. He says: he was walking in the village and a few meters from the playground – he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his ankle. At first, he thought – he was injured, but he understood everything when he bent down – and he saw a viper near his leg.
Sergey, the victim:
I looked closely because I know that the snake has yellow ears, but I did not see the yellow ears and I immediately thought it was a snake. And I shouted to my friend to run away, to look under his feet so that nothing would happen to him.
And Sergei himself rushed home. And on the way, he picked up his mother. The woman immediately called an ambulance. While she was waiting for the doctors, she gave her son first aid.
Julia, mother of the injured boy:
In Galicia, I was told that I needed to bandage my leg as soon as possible and apply either ice or something cold. I did so. When we went, they said in Halych, there is no serum, so we go straight to Ivano-Frankivsk.
But the serum was not needed. It all worked out. The guy is planned to be discharged tomorrow. The woman is sure that if she is delayed, the consequences could be fatal. He says: snakes are not uncommon in their village today… A real invasion of reptiles. Among them are vipers. Common and Carpathian – the two most common species in the Carpathians.
Julia, mother of the injured boy:
You walk on the road, just the main road, I leave the store with my daughter – literally the day before, so I hear: something is rustling in the grass. I look, only the tail is black, despite the road itself. It is said that there are already snakes crossed with snakes – they are very dangerous.
In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, doctors say, there is no shortage of serum against snake venom. However, they warn you to be careful and always look under your feet everywhere. Especially in this heat, because snakes like to bask in the sun. And places for this are not chosen.
