She reminded that the parliament of the previous convocation made a legislative mistake, as a result of which military pensions assigned until 2018 were not indexed.
“This has created an unfair situation where pensions until 2018 are lower than pensions after 2018. As an MP, I received many appeals from military retirees. We have addressed the Cabinet of Ministers and the Office of the President many times in this regard. It is clear that the problem was, including due to lack of money in the PFC, “- writes Vereshchuk.
However, the other day the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal stated that at the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers a decision will be made to increase pension benefits for retired servicemen, the People’s Deputy continued.
“Such a decision is not the final solution to the problem. We need a law that clearly regulates the indexation of military pensions granted until 2018.
In the meantime, the steps of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers make the situation at least fairer, ”she concluded.
