The Ministry of Energy plans to accumulate 19-20 billion cubic meters of gas in underground gas storage facilities by the heating season of 2021-2022.

Preparation for the heating season
Earlier, the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Panteleev suggested that for the heating season, Ukrainian gas should become social and sold for the needs of district heating at a price of 4 thousand UAH per thousand cubic meters. m., because the market value of gas is not included in the tariffs of enterprises.
The weighted average price of natural gas in August reached a record value of UAH 15.25 thousand per cubic meter, increasing by 18% compared to the average price in July.
On June 14, 2021, the adviser to the Minister of Energy Lana Zerkal stated that if Russia decides to interrupt the transit of gas through Ukraine, it will become significantly more expensive for domestic consumers.
