During a videoconference of political advisers to the leaders of the Normandy Four countries, Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak proposed to adopt a document for the effective work of the Trilateral Contact Group for the Settlement of the Situation in Donbas (TCG).
“At the same time, Yermak noted the need to intensify the work of the Trilateral Contact Group. Therefore, he spoke in favor of adopting a document that would give impetus to the Minsk format of negotiations,” the press service of the President’s Office reported.
According to Yermak, the Joint Steps Plan for the Trilateral Contact Group, which was prepared by the Ukrainian side, can be considered as such a document.
“We view this plan as a document related to the implementation of the Minsk agreements within the TCG. This document is the result of important work done both in the Normandy format in the past and in the work of the TCG. I believe that if mutual understanding is found, this plan can become the basis for a great roadmap that we can adopt within the framework of the Normandy format,” Yermak said.
According to him, this document summarizes all the proposals that were voiced by the parties at the previous TCG meetings.
The Normandy Four leaders’ advisers agreed to continue consultations on the development of a roadmap based on this document.
