The tragedy happened on July 13. More than 600 people were involved in the rescue operation and dismantling of the debris. 23 people were rescued alive from the wreckage, 5 of them were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.
The reasons for the collapse have not been officially announced yet, an investigation is underway.
The death toll from the collapse of a high-rise Champlain Towers South in Surfside near Miami, Florida, has risen to 94.
The collapse of a 12-story residential building occurred on the morning of June 24. Of the 135 apartments, 55 were destroyed. On the first day, 37 people were rescued from the rubble, then rescuers found only the bodies of the dead. In 2018, signs of “serious structural damage” were recorded in the building. The remaining part of the building was demolished by a directed explosion.
