Sony is once again releasing another product from its line of proprietary hybrids with glass lanterns. We are talking about the LSPX-S3, which is a wireless Bluetooth speaker, which, which is important and very pleasant, will cost an impressive $ 100 less than its predecessor. The LSPX-S3 speaker is capable of vibrating its glass tube to act as a “sound diffuser,” which Sony says allows it to transmit sound in virtually all directions.

Inside the glass, of course, there is a lamp with 32 different brightness levels, which, in turn, allows it to act as a kind of bedside lamp, night light, or a creative replacement for a candle on the dining table. And as the name suggests, the LSPX-S3 is already the third Sony device with such an unusual form factor. And yes, again, among the entire line, the novelty is the cheapest. It should be recalled that the original LSPX-S1 sold for $ 799 immediately after its launch in 2016, while the sequel, the LSPX-S2, cost less at $ 449.
And yes, it’s hard to argue with the fact that the third-generation speaker is just as true to tradition and is still expensive – $ 349. But in any case, it is much more profitable than previous models. Along with the glass dome, the new LSPX-S3 also features an integrated mid-range driver along with a passive radiator for high-quality reproduction of even the lowest frequencies. Battery life is rated for 8 hours and is charged via the USB-C connector. It is also important to note that the LSPX-S3 has support for the company’s proprietary codec called Sony LDAC, which is rightly considered a kind of “gold standard” for the sound of Bluetooth devices. So if you wanted to buy yourself something like that, then the new glass speaker from Sony will be available for purchase starting in August this year.
