A new runway was opened today at Odessa International Airport.

The first plane to land on the new runway was a flight of SkyUp Airlines PQ107 Kyiv (Borispol) – Odesa. He was greeted by a water arch.
The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Serhiy Hrynevetsky, the mayor of Odessa Hennadiy Trukhanov, and others.
According to Volodymyr Semenchenko, director of Odessa International Airport, the new lane will increase the number of flights and increase the flow of tourists.
“This is a new era of our airport,” Semenchenko said.
The new runway will accept wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 767 and Airbus A330.

The new runway of Odessa Airport is 2.8 km long and 45 meters wide. Due to preparations for the opening, the airport did not accept or send flights from midnight on July 15.
Odesa International Airport belongs to the group of the largest airports in Ukraine and is connected by air with many Ukrainian cities, as well as the countries of Western Europe, Asia, and Africa.
