A student from the Netherlands invented the latest way to refuel a motorcycle. He extracts fuel from the swamp.

The guy developed a bike that runs on swamp gas. It collects methane in 8 hours – enough to travel 12 miles.
How it works
Student engineer Geis Schalks designed a motorcycle that runs on methane, but only assembled from roadside swamps. The main goal of the inventor is to live in a more ecological world. The development was called Sloot Motor. The bike runs on freshly collected bog methane, which is located in a giant tank attached to the rear of the motorcycle.
The fact is that ponds and small reservoirs emit natural gas methane during the decomposition of organic compounds. To collect it, the guy created a special floating structure. The young engineer-inventor is convinced that this is a significant contribution to saving nature. Subsequently, the guy connects the hose from the pump to the cylinder in which the gas accumulates, and pumps it out. Finally, he moves it into a capsule on his motorcycle.
“To fill a full tank, I need to spend about eight hours in the swamp. But they are the most valuable in my life. I’m proud of that,” says Geiss.
For Schalks, projects such as Sloot Motor are aimed at reorienting people’s attitudes to technology.
If the world we live in is the cause of global disintegration, overproduction of resources, and inequality, then why do we continue to move in this direction? We enjoy all the benefits of civilization, despite the consequences they have on the environment, hoping that these technologies will save us
– the convinced inventor.
