The WhatsApp development team is testing a new feature that will allow users to send messages without using a smartphone. This way, people will be able to stay connected in the app, even if something happens to the device.

Currently, the PC application and the web version of WhatsApp require that the user’s smartphone remain turned on. The update will avoid this limitation.
The WhatsApp team said that users will be able to bind four devices simultaneously. They can be used together.
While the new feature will be tested in beta. Only a “small group of users” will be able to join. Thus, the finished version will work stably.
