2.244 Million Cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine With 229 per Day

In Ukraine, 2.244 million cases of coronavirus COVID-19 have already been recorded, an increase of 249 per day on July 17, which is less than the day before. 382 people were hospitalized per day, a decrease against the figure the day before. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

“For the day of July 17, 2021, in Ukraine recorded 229 new confirmed cases of coronavirus COVID-19 (including children – 27, nurses – 4),” – said in a statement.

Also for the past 24hrs:

– 382 people were hospitalized;

– fatal cases – 8;

– recovered – 241 people;

For the past 24hrs,

13,429 people have been tested by PCR,

3,158 people by ELISA, and 9,495 people by

rapid tests.

During the whole pandemic in Ukraine:

– 2,244,495 people fell ill;

– recovered – 2,181,198 people;

– fatalities – 52,726;

– PCR tests were performed – 11,151,481.

Over the last 24 hours, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in Dnipropetrovsk (50), Kyiv (43), Odesa (35), Vinnytsia (19), and Kyiv (17) oblasts.

Quarantine to counter the spread of a new type of coronavirus in Ukraine was introduced on March 12, 2020. Then it was repeatedly continued and transferred to the form of adaptive quarantine in the summer.

From January 8 to 24, Ukraine was subject to strict quarantine. It was administered to “bring down” the incidence of COVID-19. The Ministry of Health noted that the main effect of the January “lockdown” was achieved.
