The Golden Palm of the Cannes Film Festival won the film “Titan” by French director Julia Ducourne. The chairman of the jury, American director Spike Lee, announced the winner of the main award before the other winners were announced.

Details of the plot of the picture before the premiere were kept secret. According to Variety, the heroine of the film has sex with cars and gets pregnant from them, as well as brutally kills men and women.
This is the second time in the history of the Cannes Film Festival that a woman has received the main award. The last time it was Jane Campion with the movie “Piano” in 1993.
The list of winners is as follows:
“Golden Palm Branch” – “Titan”, Julia Ducorne;
The Grand Prix was divided into two paintings – “Coupe number six”; Finnish director Juho Kuosmanen and Iranian film “Hero” directed by Asgar Farhadi;
Special jury prizes were awarded to Nadav Lapid with the painting “Knee of Ahed” and “Memory” by Apichatpong Virasetakul.
Best Director – “Annette” by French director Leos Carax;
Best Actor – Caleb Landry Jones for his role in the film “Nitra” by Australian director Justin Kurzel;
Best Actress – Renata Raineswe for her role in Joachim Trier’s Worst Man in the World;
Best Screenplay – “Get behind the wheel of my car”, Ryusuke Hamaguchi;
The honorary Golden Palm Branch was awarded to Italian actor and director Marco Bellocchio.
The film by Ukrainian director Serhiy Loznytsia “Babyn Yar. Context ” received an award at the Cannes Film Festival – a special prize of the Golden Eye Jury.
