Belarusian opposition leader Svitlana Tikhanovska has arrived in the United States. She is expected there in all key government agencies in Washington. The day before, Tikhanovskaya met with the Belarusian community in the United States.

Prior to the rally, people who had gathered to meet with Svitlana Tikhanovska were warned that she was under guard. The participants of the meeting were asked not to approach, not to take selfies, and not to try to pass gifts. But from the first seconds of Tikhanovskaya’s arrival, everything went wrong.
Initially, the American guards were pushed aside by Belarusian children who wanted to take the guest to the microphones. Later, the parents gained courage, handed over souvenirs, and said words of support. Together, the Belarusians formed a living chain, holding hands.
The program of Tikhanovskaya’s visit to Washington includes talks with congressmen and senators, as well as a high-level meeting at the White House and the State Department.
Asked whether Tikhanovskaya would meet with Joe Biden, she said that such a meeting was planned, but so far she could not confirm it.
Everywhere Tikhanovskaya will ask for new sanctions against the Lukashenko regime and US mediation in resolving the crisis of power in Belarus.
During the year of confrontation with the regime, Tikhanovskaya did not become a politician and does not plan to run in the next presidential election. She says there are enough better-trained candidates in the country. Her team is ready to hold the presidential election as soon as possible.
