The Kyiv Court of Appeals has postponed until July 30 the consideration of the defense’s appeal against the extension of the round-the-clock house arrest of Viktor Medvedchuk, a People’s Deputy suspected of treason from the Opposition Platform for Life.

“The next court hearing will take place on July 30 at 10:30,” the judge said.
Yes, the hearings were postponed due to the fact that the panel of judges did not have time to get acquainted with the materials of the proceedings.
On July 15, it became known that Medvedchuk’s lawyers had filed an appeal to extend his house arrest.
His house arrest has been extended until September 7.
In May this year, Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova stated that MPs Viktor Medvedchuk and Taras Kozak had been informed of suspicion of treason and attempted looting of national resources in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Already on May 13, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv sent the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk under 24-hour house arrest. On May 20, the SBU received permission to detain Taras Kozak. He was wanted. The SBU said that Kozak was in Russia, Medvedchuk said that he was in Belarus.
In July the Kyiv Pechersk District Court extended the pre-trial investigation into a criminal case on suspicion, including treason against Medvedchuk and Kozak, for six months.
