The presidents of Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova signed the Batumi Summit Declaration on European Integration during a meeting in Batumi on Monday.

According to the “European Truth” website, the text of the announcement was published on the website of the Head of State. According to the document, “We reaffirm our firm commitment to continue our integration into the European Union through comprehensive reforms aimed at strengthening our democratic institutions and the gradual approximation of our legislation in areas relevant to the basic elements of European Union law.”
The Declaration identifies Association Agreements with the European Union as key roadmaps for reform and their continued implementation is the basis for strengthening the political linkage and further deepening the economic and sectoral integration of the three associated partners of the European Union.
Giving the European perspective to the Three Affiliates will be a powerful stimulus and will give impetus to deeper and broad-based reforms.
According to Article 49 of the Treaty on the European Union, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are European countries committed to promoting it, and may apply to join the European Union.
The three countries also affirm their readiness to cooperate with the European Union in the field of the Common Security and Defense Policy, including countering various threats, enhancing cyber resilience, combating misinformation, and developing platforms for cooperation with European Union agencies and services.
