Criticism of the decision to introduce a separate EIT in the Ukrainian language is unjustified, and pickets on this issue have a political basis.
Iryna Vereshchuk, a People’s Deputy from the Servant of the People faction, noted this, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
According to her, she sees a positive in the right to choose to take the external examination in the Ukrainian language when entering technical specialties.
“First of all, it is difficult for me to explain what these pickets are connected with today. We have a coronavirus, we have restrictive measures, we have a lot of problems, and we are picketing the Cabinet of Ministers on this issue. I am the mother of a graduate, and he enters the technical specialty, and for me it is very convenient. He does not need to take the Ukrainian language and literature, he will take the Ukrainian language, and I think that is right. People who decide to enter technical specialties have the right to choose, and I don’t see any threats here, ”Vereshchuk explained.
The People’s Deputy calls criticism of the division of external evaluation options biased.
“My son is joining KPI in bioengineering, and I think that in this case he should focus on biology, chemistry, mathematics and the Ukrainian language, of course,” Vereshchuk added.
In general, the People’s Deputy considers a series of pickets through the External Evaluation to be another element of political confrontation.
“It seems to me that there is some order and political confrontation. I have seen many attacks by various groups of influence on the Ministry of Education and Science lately, and I understand their reason. But in this case I don’t consider such confrontations justified and expedient », – the people’s deputy summarized.
As you know, starting from 2021, depending on the chosen specialty, entrants have the right to choose: to take the external examination in Ukrainian language and literature or external examination in Ukrainian. The relevant order of the Ministry of Education and Science was developed and signed in 2019.
As you know , the Ministry of Education and Science has introduced a separate test in the Ukrainian language in the plan of external evaluation.
It is planned that some entrants will be able to provide the admission commissions with the results of a new external evaluation test in the Ukrainian language. Instead, entrants to the specialty with high requirements for the humanities will take a test in the Ukrainian language and literature.
