By his decree, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi enacted the decision of the National Security Council of July 16 this year on minerals. The Cabinet of Ministers has been given instructions to stimulate their search, extraction, and enrichment.

“Implement the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of July 16, 2021” On stimulating the search, extraction, and enrichment of minerals of strategic importance for sustainable economic development and defense capabilities of the state, “the decree reads.
Control over its implementation is entrusted to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
The decree comes into force from the date of its publication.
The decision of the National Security and Defense Council approves a list of 37 ores and non-metallic minerals that are of strategic importance for the country.
The document also gives the Cabinet of Ministers a number of instructions, including:
within two months to approve the list of subsoil areas that are of strategic importance for the economy and defense capabilities of the country, and will be provided for use under the terms of production sharing agreements, sites;
to ensure annual updating of the lists of subsoil areas (mineral deposits);
annually by January 1 to submit to the National Security and Defense Council an updated list of such sites.
In addition, the government has been instructed to submit to the Verkhovna Rada a number of bills – on amendments to the Subsoil Code of Ukraine, some laws of Ukraine.
Earlier, Zelensky put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on dual citizenship of officials.
