The head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arahamiya, spoke about this on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
“I think Kravchuk’s fatal mistake is to get rid of nuclear weapons after signing a meaningless memorandum (Budapest, ed.). In principle, we all inherit this big mistake today. All other mistakes of all other presidents can simply be ignored,” stated the politician.
According to him, if Ukraine remained a nuclear state, they would talk to Kyiv in a different way, they would agree in a different way.
“But I think at that time it was necessary to show persistence and at least other documents (to sign, – ed.). Even if we couldn’t service (nuclear armament, – ed.), We could reduce it, but all the same to leave a nuclear potential “, – the people’s deputy considers.
He also said that Ukraine could blackmail the whole world.
“We would be given money for maintenance, as is happening now in many other countries,” Arahamia concluded.
As UNIAN previously reported, the head of the Ukrainian delegation in the Tripartite Contact Group for the settlement of the situation in Donbas Leonid Kravchuk accused the Russian Federation of violating the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons for not allowing representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency in the occupied Donbas.
