Rescuers extinguished the fire in the passenger train “Kyiv-Kherson” which happened near Mykolaiv.

“The fire was reported at 9:25 p.m. The rear compartment of the Inter-City locomotive, which was going from Kyiv to Kherson, was on fire. The area of the fire was 6 square meters,” rescuers said.
9 passenger cars had to be detached from the locomotive. There were 71 people in them, including 60 passengers.
Half an hour later, the fire was completely extinguished: the cause of the fire is being determined, there are no victims.
Subsequently, the train was sent to the final station in Kherson.
As UNIAN reported, in Odesa, unknown people put stones and tires on the rails in front of the passenger train “Intercity”, which was traveling from Kyiv. The incident occurred on July 6 at 1496 km of the Odessa-Zastava-1 race – Usatove station.
“At about 2 p.m., the driver of the Intercity №761 electric train Kyiv-Odessa applied emergency braking to prevent a collision with stones and tires. Fortunately, thanks to the driver’s prompt action, the collision was avoided,” Ukrzaliznytsia said in a statement.
The inspection revealed the fact that stones and tires were placed on both rail threads. The locomotive crew removed foreign objects from the track. The passenger train was delayed for 3 minutes.
