The street will connect the bike lane on Reitarska Street and the bicycle path on Prorizna Street,” the statement said. in the message.
According to Oleksandr Gustelev, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Kyiv is the first city in Ukraine where a joint movement of cyclists and motorized vehicles was introduced in early July this year.
The “swallow” in the capital was the Botanical Square. The section connects the existing bicycle lane on Leontovycha Street and the future bicycle path on Ivan Franko Street, which is being arranged as part of the street overhaul, “he said.
Gustelev said that in the near future a joint movement will be introduced on another metropolitan street – Nimanska in the Pechersk district.
“It will join the lane for public transport on Druzhby Narodiv Boulevard, where bicycle traffic is also allowed,” the official explained.
He stressed that it is important that drivers adhere to the speed limit and do not park cars in the right lane and on sidewalks.
New solutions:
The State Agency of Motor Roads of Ukraine will build three transport interchanges at the entrances to Kyiv, which will ensure the safe distribution of traffic flows and unloading of transport hubs on international routes.
In particular, three places have been identified for the construction of interchanges: the 15th kilometer on the M-05 Kyiv-Odessa highway (near the settlement of Chabany), the 21st kilometer on the same highway (Vita-Poshtova station), and the 21st kilometer. and kilometer on the road M-06 Kyiv-Chop (point Parking).
