Olga Saladukha, a bronze medalist in the 2012 Triple Jump, has announced that she is ending her career after failing to qualify for the Tokyo Games.

“29 incredible years in sports! Participation in 4 Olympic Games with bronze in London 2012, the whole set of awards at the World Championships, victories at the European Championships, and many other achievements. But it’s time to turn this page of life and overcome new heights. Yes, I wanted to end my career on another note. But, unfortunately … It takes a little time to analyze what happened and why it failed. Then I will be able to answer all the questions for myself and everyone who is waiting for such a conversation, ”Saladukha wrote.
She thanked everyone who was involved in her sports career.
“Now, having experience and vision, in the future I will do everything in my power to develop Ukrainian sports. Behind each result of the athlete, in addition to their own efforts, there are dozens of specialists, officials, a range of works, and other aspects invisible to fans. The results of our athletes at the main forums are a mirror of the state of affairs in Ukrainian sports. Therefore, there is still a lot of hard work ahead of us to restore and increase the sports glory of Ukraine as a sports state! ”The athlete wrote.
It will be recalled that in Tokyo Saladukha showed a result of 13.93 m and failed to meet the final standard – 14.40 m.
Saladukha is currently a People’s Deputy and a member of the Servant of the People faction.
