“We located 98 outbreaks that broke out in 3-4 days, 107 forest fires are not for everyone. We have all witnessed that in such developed countries as the United States or Russia, for several days or even months, it happened for six months, “Forest fires could not be extinguished. I would also like to appeal to social media and politicians. Turkey is truly one of the most successful countries in the world in extinguishing forest fires. No matter what you say, you will not be able to hinder our struggle,” Pakdemirli said.
On July 28, against the background of strong heat in Turkey, forest fires occurred, which reached the city of Manavgat in the resort province of Antalya.
On July 29, fires spread to the resorts of Marmaris, Bodrum, and other cities in southern Turkey. Because of them, tourists were evacuated from hotels.
Ukraine has sent planes to Turkey to fight the fires. As of July 31, most fires have been localized, and some regions have been declared disaster zones.
