It is no secret that roses can not only admire, pave the way for loved ones, or sprinkle the bride at the wedding but the most romantic flowers can also be cooked as a jam.

Jam from rose petals will give incredible pleasure to anyone who just tries it. Delicate color, velvety taste, intoxicating aroma – these are not all its characteristics.
In our time, when people really appreciate organic products and handmade, a jar of rose petals, cooked by hand, will be not just a reminder of summer, but also a great gift for a good friend.
Ingredients:
300 g of rose petals;
1 kg of sugar;
400 ml of water;
2 tablespoons lemon juice.
Preparation:
Separate rose petals from sepals, also remove pistils and stamens. Rinse the petals under running water and dry slightly.
Fill the prepared petals with 1 cup of sugar and mash well so that they let the juice, then leave for 1-2 hours.
And from the remnants of sugar and water, boil the syrup, lower the petals into it, bring to a boil and cook over medium heat for 20-25 minutes, adding lemon juice 10 minutes before cooking.
Pour hot jam into sterilized jars, cover with sterile lids, and close.
On a side note:
For jam use, a pink tea rose with a pronounced aroma.
It is better to collect roses for a jam in the morning when flowers are fresh and elastic.
If roses are not enough for cooking jam, and you collect them gradually, 3-4 days the flowers can be stored in the refrigerator in a tightly tied bag.
For jam, you can use not only roses but also rose hips.
If you want the color of the jam to be richer, add a handful of red rose petals, but you must understand that in the finished product they will be denser than other petals.
To enhance the aroma, add a couple of drops of rose oil to the jam.
Lemon juice can be replaced with 1 teaspoon of citric acid.
