The highest daily rate of coronavirus infection SARS-CoV-2 was registered at the Olympics in Tokyo. In 24 hours, they infected 29 people involved in the Summer Olympics. This is stated in a report published on Wednesday, August 4, on the website of the organizing committee “Tokyo 2020”.

Among the infected are four athletes. The total number of cases of coronavirus infection among those involved in the competition reached 322.
Coronavirus at the 2020 Olympics
Due to the deteriorating epidemiological situation in Tokyo, the state of emergency was extended until August 31. It provides, in particular, a ban on the sale of alcohol in catering establishments and restrictions on the admission of spectators to mass events. The Olympics in the capital of Japan is held without spectators.
