To resolve the situation in Donbas, it is important that the residents of its occupied part identify themselves and answer the question “who are you” – are you with Russia or with Ukraine. After all, Donbas will never be Russian territory. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Dom TV channel.

“Some people living in the occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea today must clearly understand that this is not about someone being expelled somewhere. I just want to be understood correctly. Once again: homeland, are you a guest? I believe that if you live in the territory of Donbas today, temporarily occupied, and you believe that “our business is right, we – in Russia, we – the Russians – it is a big mistake to stay in Donbas,” – said Zelensky.
According to him, Donbas will never be Russian territory.
“It will never be Russian territory. Just never. No matter how long it’s been occupied, you know? It’s like a wall in Germany. It does not matter. Either way, people, history will seize the moment and the wall will fall. If they do not agree, people will still take advantage of the moment, it is impossible. Therefore, I believe that for the future of your children and grandchildren: you love Russia and believe that you have been in Ukraine all your life and felt that it is Russia, then you must understand that in the name of your children and grandchildren you already need to go and look for a place in Russia. That’s right, “Zelensky said.
In addition, Zelensky addressed Ukrainians in the Donbas.
But if you feel that you are Ukrainian and Donbas is Ukrainian if you respect this flag, you respect the Ukrainian language (even if you were not taught in school, read books yourself, everything will come, speak as you want), but if you feel that you are Ukrainian – be there.
