British musician Paul Jones died on August 5 as a result of a coronavirus infection. He was only 50 years old.

It is known that at the end of July he was hospitalized, he was in intensive care for some time. But doctors could not save his life.

The musician began his musical career under the pseudonym “PP Jones”, performing a duet with Brian Jones, the future founder of The Rolling Stones. After a while, Brian Jones and Keith Richards invited Paul to become the lead singer of the band they were forming, but he refused.
Instead, he became the lead singer of Manfred Mann, recording two albums and several singles with her, including the hit “Do Wah Diddy Diddy” (1964), but left the band in July 1966, preferring a solo career. In the same year, Paul Jones took part in the short-term music project Eric Clapton and the Powerhouse, where he played the accordion (vocalist was Steve Winwood, a guitar was played by Eric Clapton, bass guitar – Jack Bruce).
