At the beginning of the school year in Ukraine, children will go to school in full format. According to Fakty, citing the Minister of Education and Science Sergei Shkarlet, about 35% of teachers are currently vaccinated, so there may be a problem with the work of schools in various quarantine zones.
“ COVID-19 is not what it was in the beginning. New strains are developing that are more active, more aggressive. But at the beginning of the school year, we consider the situation when it is still warm, when there are no concomitant seasonal diseases, that we will go to school in full-scale mode, ”the minister said on the air of one of the TV channels.
At the same time, he recalled that in Ukraine, schools will be able to work in the red, orange, and yellow quarantine zones if 80% of the staff of educational institutions is vaccinated, while at the moment the vaccination rate does not exceed 35%.
“ But the region differs from the region too critically. For example, the Kyiv region is 90%, Zhytomyr, Lviv region – more than 55% of the vaccinated. But these numbers are on the 15th day of every month. On August 15, we have not made a cut yet. But the Volyn region is less than 10%, ”he said.
