After the eruptions of the highest and most active volcano in Europe, Mount Etna on the Italian island of Sicily set a new record height – 3357 meters.
Kyiv. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – August 11, 2021 – International News
The paroxysmal events of 2021 led to the accumulation of significant amounts of pyroclastic material and lava layers on the cone of the southeastern crater – the youngest and most active of the four upper craters of Mount Etna – which led to a marked transformation of the volcano’s silhouette.
After about 50 paroxysmal events since February last year, the highest active volcano in Europe has increased in size, reaching 3357 meters above sea level. These new altitude data were published in the weekly bulletin on volcanic, geochemical, and seismic monitoring of the volcano dated August 10, 2021, by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV).
By the way, another eruption of Mount Etna in Sicily occurred early in the morning on Monday, August 9.
