Unvaccinated students of higher education institutions cannot be prohibited from settling in dormitories.

The Minister of Education Serhiy Shkarlet said this on the air of the program “Breakfast with 1 + 1”.
According to him, there are currently no normative documents or requirements according to which accommodation in student dormitories is possible only for vaccinated persons.
“It can’t be like this, it’s a violation of rights, there are no normative documents or requirements,” the Minister of Education stressed.
At the same time, Serhiy Shkarlet noted that universities have autonomy, have been practicing distance learning for many years, so they can decide on the organization of the educational process at their own discretion.
He also added that the vast majority of students have reached the age of 18, so they can be vaccinated against COVID-19, as a result of which in higher education institutions collective immunity can be formed faster than in schools.
