An animal resembling a cougar was spotted in the suburbs of Kaniv. The predator was walking along the shore when it was recorded by the surveillance camera of the Kaniv HPP.

According to Mayor Igor Renkas, the HPP workers later saw the cougar with their own eyes.
There are no people in the city to catch, so they turned to Cherkasy and Kyiv zoos to find specialists who can catch an uninvited guest. It could be identified using photo traps.
How the predator got to the banks of the Dnieper, no one knows for sure.
