The number of participants in the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform, which will take place in Kyiv on August 23, has increased again – now there are 40. This was stated at a briefing on Friday by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

“International support for the Crimean Platform is growing. Today, I am pleased to announce that we have reached a round figure. We have 40 confirmations of participation in the Crimean Platform summit.” These are states and international organizations, ”Kuleba said.
He reminded that the “Crimean Declaration” will be adopted at the constituent summit, which will be open for further accession of states that for one reason or another could not take part in the constituent summit.
“Therefore, in fact, support for the Crimean Platform will be even greater, and I am convinced it will grow steadily,” the diplomat added.
” Crimean Platform ” is a diplomatic initiative of Ukraine, in the future – an international coordination mechanism to return the issue of Crimea to the agenda, protect human rights in Crimea and promote the de-occupation of the peninsula.
The date of the constituent summit is set for August 23, 2021, and a declaration may be adopted based on its results.
Earlier it became known that German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit Ukraine on August 22 and meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky. However, the question of her participation in the summit is currently open.
