Municipal transport in Georgia will be suspended for three weeks – from August 14 to September 4.

As explained by the head of the operational headquarters of the interdepartmental coordination council for combating COVID-19 Georgy Gibradze, the restriction will not apply to the intercity transport Echo of the Caucasus.
According to him, it is also forbidden to hold mass events – concerts, festivals, and sports tournaments (except for international competitions). Children’s entertainment centers will be closed.
Another restriction is provided for restaurants and cafes – they will be open only until 23:00 (current restriction – until 24:00).
The government recommends that government agencies and private companies transfer their employees to remote work as much as possible.
Georgia is currently at the peak of the fourth wave of coronavirus disease. In the last day alone, 5,128 new cases of infection have been detected, and 49 patients have died.
According to The New York Times, Georgia is once again leading the way in the spread of coronavirus in the world.
