KIEV. November 18 UNN. In Ukraine, from 10:00 to 12:00 there are “priority hours” for the elderly in shops and aimed at reducing contact of the elderly with younger people to reduce the risk of infection with COVID-19. The Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov declared it on air of one of TV channels, transfers UNN.
“Elderly people … They belong to the risk group according to COVID-19, so that they have less contact with people who are younger, and that they have a lower risk of infection, precisely because to dilute the flows of different groups, we introduced these hours are from 10:00 to 12:00, because, as a rule, elderly people are at home, they do not work, and this is the time when the rest of the people are at work, so we set such hours from 10:00 to 12:00 , it is correct, and we recommend to do it in such a way. I think we will be listened to, and trade establishments and all others to whom this recommendation concerns “, – he noted.
According to him, such a recommendation is valid for the quarantine period.
“They are already in force (recommendations – ed.), They were introduced by a relevant government decree. As for the response, I think they should respond – it’s respect for the elderly. I want to believe that Ukrainians should treat this category of people with respect. We are talking about the time of quarantine, because all the recommendations and rules that we introduce, they are aimed at combating COVID-19, that this is primarily due to the possibility of infecting these people who are quite difficult to tolerate this disease … And the largest percentage of deaths are 65+ people, so it is most important for us to create conditions so that there is less risk of infection with this serious disease, “Stepanov added.
It will be recalled that as of November 18, 2020, 12,496 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus disease were registered in Ukraine. During the whole pandemic in Ukraine, 570,153 people fell ill, 259,079 people recovered, and 10,112 deaths were recorded.
