Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov, in an interview with TSN, said that the issue of salaries in electronic hryvnia is being considered as an experiment. He is going to test the new technology on his subordinates – the staff of the Ministry of Digital Science.

The official believes that the e-money project has the potential to, for example, limit the misuse of subsidies. True, they will not give aid to them yet. The staff of the Ministry of Digital Transformation will be the pioneers on which the technology will be tested.
Fedorov believes that thanks to e-hryvnia technology, it is possible to attract additional investment in business and in the country as a whole.
It should be noted that e-hryvnia is a national currency based on blockchain technology, which can minimize transaction costs for transferring money from one participant in the Ukrainian payment market to another and simultaneously conduct them at an almost instantaneous speed. They are campaigning for her not only in the Ministry of Digital Affairs.
The Verkhovna Rada will consider in the second reading a bill that will legalize crypto assets. The ministry says that this will allow cryptocurrency settlements, and they believe that this will help the owners of cryptocurrencies in Ukraine to protect their fortune.
Alexander Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for IT Development, spoke about this in an interview with the Ministry of Finance. He noted that bill No. 3637 clearly states that cryptocurrency is not a means of payment, but allows acquiring operations (acquiring in simple words – the ability to conduct transactions using a bank card).
The official gave an example, according to which in Ukraine it is impossible to pay in dollars in the same way, but with the help of a dollar card, you can make purchases due to the instant currency conversion that occurs during the operation.
“The draft law on virtual assets assumes that companies will be able to provide services for such transitions. Therefore, in Ukraine, it will be quite legally possible to pay with cryptocurrency, but through an intermediary, ”the official said.
Due to the fact that the sphere of cryptocurrencies will be regulated at the level of the law, Bornyakov believes, the owners of cryptocurrencies will be able to protect their fortunes. Other advantages include the ability to legally exchange assets and declare them. Also, the Ministry of Finance is waiting for the emergence of a market for intermediary services for payment, storage, and exchange of cryptocurrencies.
